Secured School Front Entrance Bid
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Board of Education of the Stephenson Area Public School District, Stephenson, Michigan, will receive sealed bids for Secured Entrance at the High School in Stephenson, Michigan, April 18 2024 at 1:00PM CDT. Sealed bids shall be hand delivered or be delivered by USPS, Fed Ex, UPS Courier and shall be mailed to the attention of Susanne Carpenter, Superintendent, W526 Division Street, P.O. Box 509 Stephenson, Michigan 49887. The outside of the envelope shall be marked "SEALED BID FOR SECURED ENTRANCE TO HIGH SCHOOL ʺ along with the contractors name. Bids will also be accepted by E-Mail with all documents E-mailed to Scarpenter@stephenson.k12.mi.us Bids will be opened on April 18, 2024 at 1:00PM CDT publicly by the Owner. Each prime bidding contractor shall be informed in writing, as to the bids received. It is the Bidders responsibility to have the bids received before established date and time. Bids will not be accepted if received after the above-mentioned times noted above.
Work in general shall consist of relocating existing interior vestibule aluminum frame and hardware, removing two existing hollow metal frames and glazing, installing new aluminum framing and doors and glazing, modifying existing masonry wall for new entrance, metal studs and drywall above relocated frame, acoustical ceiling modification, electrical at the High School.
Plans and Specifications may be examined at the office of the Architect, Stephenson Schools, and the following Plan Rooms and Builders Exchanges: Delta County Builders Exchange, Marquette Builders Exchange, Iron Mountain-Kingsford Builders Exchange.
Complete set of Plans and Specifications can be obtained from Architects Group Limited, 1825 South Webster Avenue, Suite 202, Green Bay, Wisconsin 54301, telephone: (920)432-1232 for a refundable deposit of $25.00 and a non-refundable mailing fee of $15.00. All plan deposit checks shall be made out to the Stephenson School District. Non-refundable mailing fee shall be made out to Architects Group Limited. Plans obtained electronically from Architects Group Limited are at no charge.
The successful Bidders will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract and to be executed on AIA Form A312 attached to Bid Documents.
Bid Form, Bid Bond, and Form of Non‑Collusive Affidavit Form shall be submitted with Bid. Failure to do so may be cause for rejection of bid. Copies of the above-mentioned forms are in the specification book.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) consecutive calendar days subsequent to the opening of Bids without the consent of the Owner.
No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Check in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the total Base Bids, payable to the Stephenson Area Public School District, Stephenson, Michigan, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proposed contract and bonds within 10 days after the award of contract.
A Pre-Bid meeting will be held April 8, 2024 at 10:00AM. Meet in the lobby of Stephenson High School.
